Our nursery is on the first floor of the Christian Education wing across from the church office. Sunday Sack activity packets for young worshipers are available on the table at the rear of the sanctuary. Please return sacks to the table after worship.
Restrooms are on the first floor of the Christian Education wing. The women’s restroom is just inside the nursery on the right. The men’s restroom is at the far end of the hall.
An AED (Automated External Defibrillator) is in the hallway between the parlor and the sanctuary. Only trained and qualified persons should use it.
Please fill out the Friendship Form at the end of the pew. To learn about membership in Calvin Church, please check the “Wish to Join” box and give us your contact information. Pastor Jim will contact you about the process of joining Calvin Church.
If you have special prayer concerns, please fill out a prayer request form found in the pew packets and on the lectern in the back of the sanctuary.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
1. Session has established a new program called Two-Cents-a-Meal, designed to remind us of the poor and needy. As a daily devotional exercise, individuals and families are encouraged to save two cents per person per meal for hunger ministries. This money will be received as a special offering on the fourth Sunday of each month.
2. TCP’s Spaghetti Dinner will be held on February 19. Please see the bulletin insert for details.
3. We need nursery volunteers to help after the Children’s Time in the worship service. A sign-up sheet is in the back of the sanctuary. Please see Karen Hazen for more information.
4. Our annual Per Capita Apportionment for 2012 is $29.50 per active member. Of that, $20.80 is used to support the mission of Shenango Presbytery; $2.20 goes to the work of the Synod of the Trinity, and $6.50 is used for the work of the General Assembly.
5. The next mission trip for Constructores Para Cristo to Piedras Negras, Mexico will be from Sunday, July 1 to Saturday, July 7, 2011. Applications will be available in the church office soon. If you are interested in going on this mission trip, please complete an application in its entirety and return it to the church office by Monday, March 5 at the latest. Include a check for $100 payable to Calvin Presbyterian Church and indicate “Special Mission Fund” on the memo line. If you have any questions, please see a member of the mission committee.
6. The Agape Sunday School class is studying I and II Timothy.
7. The M&M Sunday School class is studying God’s creative word this quarter (February - April) focusing on Proverbs and the Gospel of John.
8. Today is the second Sunday of the month. The Hunger Offering will be collected in the baskets after the regular offering. We support the Deacons and the Presbyterian Hunger Program with these funds.
9. Please contribute the following items for the Ellwood City Food Bank in February: boxed meals, cereals, canned and boxed soups, tuna fish, and paper/personal hygiene products.
10. The Calvineers will be meeting at Brown’s Country Kitchen at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 18. Dinner will be ordered from the menu. A sign-up sheet is located in the back of the sanctuary.
